Racing at School

Students at the Marymount International School of Rome will participate in the 8th edition of the Global Junior Challenge with a line-follower racing robot.

The objective of Project Line Follower Race Cars, coordinated by Prof. Carlo Zoffoli, is to develop and build from scratch autonomous machines that can follow a route indicated on the ground. In fact, technological, scientific, electronic and computer skills are fundamental for the new labour market.

Students in middle school and the first two years of high school used TinkerCad to design the 3D chassis for their robots, worked on the electronic components (Arduino Nano, infrared sensors, voltage regulators, LiPo batteries, motors, motor drivers, breadboard and cables) and the C++ coding necessary to operate their creation.
