Who we are

Historically promoted by the city of Rome “Roma Capitale” and organized every two years by Fondazione Mondo Digitale, The GJC selects and rewards the best practices in the field of technology oriented to education in the 21st century. In the 2017 edition, the international jury selected 90 finalist projects from 16 countries on 4 continents: Asia, Europe, Africa and America. In the database of 8 editions there ore over 3’700 projects, coming from all over the world, and over 600 success stories chosen by the international jury.

The last edition took place in Rome capital from the 25th to 27th of October 2017 inside the Libraries of Rome and the Civic Museum of Zoology with a large exhibition area, conferences, workshops and activities for students and teachers. The exhibition was an opportunity to enhance the finalist projects and allow the protagonists to get to know each other, forging new alliances.

Since 2017 the event is dedicated to the linguist Tullio De Mauro, who for over 10 years, as president, led the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. To him is also entitled the "Tullio De Mauro Award for the School that Innovates and Includes", a special mention to remember the Maestro's civil commitment, to continue his work and at the same time continue to enhance the precious role of headmasters and teachers who work every day combining inclusion and quality of the training offer. The eighth edition also hosted the conference "School according to De Mauro": an original jam session with the great names of Italian culture to tell and teach school according to the teachings of the well-known linguist. Intervened women and men that in different sectors have crossed their work with the thought of the scholar, expert in school and education.
