School is presented as a site of connects, an ideal place to network. Thanks to the aide of Lego bricks, school administrators developed a common vision of quality education, allowing that which is concealed by nature to take form.

This short series of interviews was conducted by Ilaria Bonanni during the collaborative planning session with the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology held on the opening day of the Global Junior Challenge [1] (Dec. 11). It records the opinions of Emilia D'Aponte, School Administrator at the Liceo Vito Volterra [2] in Ciampino (Rome), Antonella Di Bartolo School Administrator at the Istituto comprensivo Sperone-Pertini [3] in Palermo, Gemma Faraco, School Administrator, and Silvia Mazzeo, teacher, at IC Taverna [4] in Montalto Uffugo (Cosenza).

"Here is my secret. It is very simple. You can only see well with your heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes.” The expression and image from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “Little Prince,” quoted by Headmistress Emilia, efficiently reveals the great power of the LSP Method: making visible even the concealed essential.

The school administrators who participated in the collective planning session with the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology were selected by a jury of experts seeking to interpret the values of “School according to De Mauro” or inclusive, quality and open.

According to the principles that regulate social innovation processes, the work session was hybrid and involved top figures working in other strategic sectors for the education of youth and the growth of the country.

The LSP Methodology helps to visualize complexity and identify innovative solutions thanks to the efficient synergy created by connected intelligences. The work session was coordinated by Cecilia Stajano, Lego® Serious Play® Trained LSP Facilitator and School Innovation Coordinator and Community Manager at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
